| I for one, use the facebook notes more than xanga. I don't know why, because I have facebook setup to import notes from xanga. | | |
| So, this morning I received an email on my yahoo account that I pretty much only use when I have to put in an email address on a website. It attracts a load of spam, so it pretty much just gets opened, cleaned out and then closed again when I look at it. But today was an email that doesn't fit the typical spam profile...it makes me chuckle at the thought that someone could send this type of email to a totally wrong email address. Here it is:
Hey there-
I am sorry you were so upset this morning, it stinks this
happened. I know you did not say Brenda did this, but you kind of held back
when I asked.
I really do not believe she would do anything to sabotage
your meeting place-honestly, she is not that kind of person.
Why don’t you consider this: Wait to start the group
until you have gone thru broken silence. You will meet more people there and
probably more than a few that want to help create an ongoing group.
If you want to get together and talk on days you are having
a tough time, then we can do that. I just think this will get you into a group
you will feel comfortable in again and start meeting more people who have been
thru the same thing we have.
I would like to help with the group, but I must say, helping
Brenda with hers and my work commitments make it hard sometimes. I will as I
can, but not sure I can dedicate as much time as you can.
What do you think about waiting just till April for your
group? It is only a couple more months and it will give you more time to find
another meeting place.
Let me know! J ------------------------------
So....who is J? Who is Brenda? What did she do to the meeting place? What is the group? What is the meeting? Where do they work? Can they wait until April to meet? Why do they need to find another meeting place?
Since most of my faithful readers are somewhat creative, how about you right up some scenarios to those questions (or whatever else comes to mind) and I'll seam this all into a narrative. Sounds like fun.

| On the stagecraft listserv, there has been significant discussion over whether or not the US should have a Secretary of the Arts. Its been an interesting discussion for sure. Should a Cabinet level position come to fruition, it could help out a lot of the struggling arts organizations in the country.
To that end, Bill Sapsis, of Sapsis Rigging has created this letter and is encouraging people to send it to their local paper's editor. I'll be sending mine in. I hope you all will consider writing your own (or using Bill's).
---------------------- Dear Editor.
For a number of years now, the Arts have taken a back seat to other
interests here in the USA. Some might even say they have been in the trunk.
Regardless of where they where, it's time for the Arts to take a seat up
front. Almost every other country in the world has some sort of Secretary
of the Arts or Minister of Culture. It's to our embarrassment and disgrace
that we do not.
To quote Michael Chabon, author and member of President-elect Barack Obama's
Arts Policy Committee
"America's artists are the guardians of the spirit of questioning, of
innovation, of reaching across the barriers that fence us off from our
neighbors, from our allies and adversaries, from the six billion other
people with whom we share this dark and dazzling world. Art increases the
sense of our common humanity."
The Arts are what hold us together as a people and as a nation. The Arts
are what give voice to our culture and heritage. It's the Arts that keep us
sane in a world gone crazy.
For too long Americans have been considered the bullies of the world. For
too long the image of America has been a tank rumbling down a street in a
foreign country. It is time for a change.
It's time for a Secretary of the Arts. There has never been a greater
opportunity for the Arts in the United States. Let us not squander that
opportunity.

| Today brought a large amount of joy to my tastebuds as a double batch of salsa was created! This one was a special sweet with minimal heat for my Ella to enjoy. So, without much further ado about nothing...I give you:
Ella is so Sweet Salsa
18 roma tomatoes 6 small sweet onions 2 orange bell peppers 2 yellow bell peppers 1 red bell pepper 4 anaheim peppers 2 poblano peppers 2 green chili peppers 10 sweet peppers 4 cloves garlic 2 mangos salt lime juice olive oil black pepper
Of course, it was all grilled.

Overall, it is nice and sweet...mild heat. Good for piling high on the chip. | | |
